This baby is the one that most closely resembles a purebred Barb among Bobch and Peach’s hatchlings this season. It’s a truly unique gecko. Despite both parents carrying Tri-Extreme Harlequin traits, this one looks quite different from its siblings.

The most striking feature is the tangerine hue as its secondary trait. I wish I had more photos from when it hatched, but unfortunately, I only have one usable picture. Even from this image, it would have been hard to predict the tangerine coloration. It initially looked very similar to the first and second hatchlings, but unlike them, the fourth baby developed a tangerine shade over time.

The combination of a black base, secondary tangerine, and third white trait creates incredible contrast and depth. Additionally, the white crown and textured dorsal with raised third-trait white markings perfectly showcase the pure Barb lineage.

The lateral third-trait markings are not very prominent yet, so it’ll be interesting to see how much they develop over time. This one also inherited many of its father’s spots, with several large ones already visible. It will be worth observing whether these spots become more defined or fade as the gecko matures. Regardless, this baby is yet another testament to the strong lineage of the pure Barb bloodline.
